This article focuses on yet another customized option at B&VIIT. That is the personalized process of examination for custom lenses, more specifically Ortho-k Lens, or Dream lens.

What is Dreamlens?

Dreamlenses are specially designed contact lenses that gently and gradually reshape the front surface of the cornea while sleeping. This helps eliminate or reduce myopia or astigmatism. It also helps with farsightedness and reading difficulties.

Why choose Ortho K lens?

Ortho-K lenses are a non-surgical vision correction method that enables safe vision correction for children as well as teenagers. Dreamlens is extremely convenient as it allows your vision to be corrected as you sleep. It is also a less invasive means of vision correction as it requires no surgery. Another reason to choose ortho-k lenses is that it is extremely safe. Due to the fact that it can suppress myopia progression it is safe to use for kids even as young as seven years old.

B&VIIT personalized lens examination

B&VIIT offers a completely tailored Dreamlens system, that caters to each individual persons needs. You can choose a customized lens that suits your eyes through B&VIIT’s systematic inspection system. In order to achieve satisfactory vision correction, certain steps must be completed by each patient.

This is the 1:1 inspection process for customized lenses:

Step 1 – Precision tests: Tests are conducted to find the correct fitting lens.

Step 2 – Eye test: The eye condition is checked by the doctor.

Step 3 – Lens fitting: A lens fitting is selected and the adjusted to the eye

Step 4 – Lens safety: The doctor will provide information on lens management and go through a precautions guide.

In order to make sure we choose a lens that is absolutely perfect for your eyes and that will deliver optimal comfort and results, we thoroughly test your eyes. Here is a list of the tests performed.

1. Corneal topography test:

This measures the corneal shape, and it is required to check the lens fitting.

2. Angiography examination:

During this a picture of the retina is taken to see how well your vision will develop. It also can determine whether eye diseases are present or not.

3. Safety field measurement inspection:

This measures the corneal curvature, eyeball length, corneal thickness, corneal width, and anterior depth.

4. Precise vision test:

This test will determine the presence of myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia, and predict the maximum vision that can be achieved.

5. Corneal epithelium thickness test:

The corneal epithelium is the part that the lens presses against. This test measures thickness, and makes sure corneal conditions are normal.

6. Body Components Analysis Meter:

This test looks at your kidneys, weight, and muscle development. It also provides growth-related data such as obesity. It does this because it will be able to analyze growth factors and myopia progression.

  5. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
